The Lyrics

The Salvation Army are against baptism, if you're wondering...
I'm gonna get baptized
The salvation army couldn't hold me back
I'm gonna go to church
Praying behind all those idiot's backs

And I'm talking to God each night,
Hoping that he'll forget
That I burned down a church
With an old cigarette

But the message coming from that guy
Is I'm going to hell

Ya only parodied one verse, and it seemed kinda mean-spirited. 411.

There's an error in this page. The Salvation Army is not against baptism. They don't perform baptisms as a ceremony in their church but they do not have anything against it.

As a member of The Salvation Army, we have nothing against baptism. It is a sacrament that we do not practice because we believe it isn't necessary to salvation but again we hold no negative opinion toward baptism. I know of members in The Salvation Army who have been baptized because they wanted to express their obedience to God with a symbolic act such as baptism.
