I'm a curious kid, I wanted to be sure
What was making those yelps, all the time by my floor
Seeing the truth has dampened my clothes
Because some ugly thing almost bit off my nose
They were flashing their teeth and pointy claws
I'd be closing my eyes but I'd think of their jaws
Wanna get a new bed with no room underneath
Cause I need help from things with big teeth

And they're lacking charm, they want to cause me harm
With them I would brawl but they'd bite off my arm
Wish that it could be bright, when the monsters sleep
And I'm dreading the night, when they learn how to leap
When I saw them bare - those scary teeth
From then on I was scared, that it's me they would eat
I can try to pretend, that they're just in my head
But I cannot forget, those things under my bed
Mommy turn on the light
That would help with my fright

Daddy tell me is there
