The Lyrics

#42. Some doctors are just misunderstood.
Why do kids think I'm so mean
Scream, whine, and shout, they cause a scene
I try to give them shots, you see
I put up, I put up
It won't make you bleed

It's sterilized, it's sterilized
It's only a needle
And it's sterilized

Passing out, faces green
You just need a quick vaccine
Measles gone, and no TB
Don't get up, don't get up
They're so hard to retrieve

It's sterilized, it's sterilized
Only a needle
And it's sterilized
They're terrified, they're terrified
And if you have to cope
You can close your eyes

This kid always has bad dreams
"Every doc sticking things in me"
Pull yourself together, please
Don't throw up, don't throw up
I'm not an old nanny

Arm is bared, needle's there
Wincing face and pulling hair
Look, it's just antibody
I'll give up, I'll give up
There's no reason to scream

It's sterilized, it's sterilized
Only a needle
And it's sterilized
They'd rather die, they'd rather die
The only thing I do
Is to save your life

Sterilized... sterilized...

Don't know the original song but I can relate to this from the other side. I know it's an irrational fear but between the ages of 10 and 19, needles petrified me, so I'm sure there were lots of nurses out there thinking these exact things about me.
