Song Parodies -> "A Few Of My Favorite Dopes"

Original Song Title:

"A Few Of My Resolutions"

Original Performer:

Robert Lund´s Christmas Album

Parody Song Title:

"A Few Of My Favorite Dopes"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

WADA = World Anti-Doping Agency.
DDR = Deutsche Demokratische Republik = Old East Germany.
EPO = Synthetic erythropoietin.
Belgian Blue: Google´s Picture Search will give you some "nice" examples.
Ekaterini Thanou and Kenteris
Motorbike speeders with glandular eeries
Press jury hangmen have brought out the rope
What will become of these Parthenon dopes

Some say there must be malfunctioning counters
But have they seen Jones or Johnson and Hunter
Weightlifting women and testosterone
Tadzjiki chicks that you never would bone

There´s a red card if the drug is outdated
But now there´s genotype doping created
Belarus hotties that shout put for miles
Have a dossier in the WADA X-Files

Steroiiid puff
Makes you look buff
Like a Belgian Blue
But don´t you get caught like the whole DDR
Or sponsors are booound to sue

VOICE OF AUTHORITY:
"Now don´t you cry Myrmidons, we ARE closing down the Balco Lab!"

Ottey and Muhlegg and Myllylä (Finland)
They were all honest like wrestling type pin-downs
Beach Volley muscles in top form and laced
Spikes like a shooter who´s beta-block paced

Ludmila Engqvist and Tyson were winners
Like Balcoholics Anonymous sinners
Blood change and EPO, it´s grown grotesque
Now dopelympics are won AFTER test

John N´Gugi
B Bonds´ loogie
They were filled with dope
Their dealers and trainers should join them in jail
Where Bubba will fooorce their slope
© Peter Andersson: Hopefully this parody will also work to "My favorite things" by Julie Andrews but, once again, I was listening to Spaff´s version on the Robert Lund Christmas Album when I wrote it so it seems fair to, once again, credit that as the original just like I did with "A few of my favorite streaks".

Five Olympic rings!

Thanx John. Glad to see that those dopes at Balcoholics Anonymous haven´t destroyed your olympic spirit. :-)

Missed this earlier. Quite good actually. (Takes three cards from three judges and holds them up). 5 5 5.

I was going to say DKTOS but I think I've used that joke before. Excellent job, Peter chyd. Bonus points for the "Tadzjiki chicks" line and for fitting all those names into the meter. We'll see genetically enhanced humans in our lifetime. And there will be huge debates over whether they should be allowed to compete against the "normal" people (whatever "normal" means in a few decades).

With all these vocabularyly enhanced writers originating from the AmIright Lab I think that maybe it's only fair that the physical part of the human body is allowed a little help to catch up... :-)

Just saw this as a post for the "Sports parody" contest - this was well written.

(Sports) Well done! Tadzjiki chicks, nice!

What a great idea you've suggested here! We can have the regular Olympics and the DopeOlympics! "Unenhanced" records vs. "enhanced" records!

(SPORTS) Urine-spired!

(Sports) This is well done... probably would've appreciated it more if i knew more about european sports. This is probably also quite a challenge to sing with all those long names in there.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Spaff writes better parodies than anyone else because he is on steroids and that he will continue to get away with it because nobody is willing to do a Spaff urine analysis?

Anyway, very good job, Kichyd, poking fun at an appropriate target, particularly with the "glandular eeries" and "Balcoholics Anonymous" lines.

I can't tell whether your talking about drug screening or drug selling. The Olympics is the clear target though. Nice work.

(Sports) See comments above. Still a good read.
