Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Ode to one of my fave childhood drinks. I can never outgrow Capri Sun. My favorite drink every summer and when I used to bring lunch during my elementary school years. As a matter of fact, I really had a great summer and drank lots of Capri Sun everyday!
Drink Capri Sun
Want Capri Sun
Need Capri Sun
Sip Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun
(Repeat 2x)

Drink Capri...

I'm a sweltered victim
Underneath the hot sun
The heat I stand and sweat
Need something cool and wet
I'm in the mood for pouched drinks,
I'm real thirsty

Need Capri Sun
Sweet Capri Sun
Neat Capri Sun

I'll get a Coastal Cooler
Or maybe Roaring Waters
I need just one refreshment each day
Don't want no Ssips
Just my fave pouch drink

Drink Capri Sun
Cool Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun

Nice to pack it for lunch
The fruit drink that packs a punch
So great when snacking's fun
Drinking more on the run
Need to unwind so take one,
Sip one

Drink Capri Sun
Sip Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun

Nice to drink by the poolside
Or when you're watching high tides
A drink that's come to take me away
Won't take Hi-C
And won't take Nestea

Just Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun
Sip Capri Sun

Mountain Cooler or Splash Cooler
Great to drink in between schoolwork
Wild cherry or some strawberry
Pouched drinks so extraordinary
Hard to stick straws in holes either way
Juice may leak so don't squirt it on ya

Drink Capri Sun
Fresh Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun

Drink Capri Sun, baby
Cold Capri Sun, baby
Drink Capri Sun, baby
Don't need water, baby

Need some cool drinks to slouch any day
No carbonates
Or carbohydrates

Just Capri Sun
Need Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun

Better than Gatorade
Or that Pink Lemonade
An appetite to whet
Drank something cool and wet
It's so cool and refreshing
To my body

Drank Capri Sun
Got Capri Sun
Drank Capri Sun

I'm drinking a Surf Cooler
Then a Pacific Cooler
Need something nice to chill everyday
Tell me does this drink come in mango

Drink Capri Sun
Sip Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun
Cold Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun
Fresh Capri Sun
Drink Capri Sun

Drink Capri Sun, baby
(Get one!)
Fun on the run, baby
(Go tell someone, baby)
Go and buy some, baby
Stick and sip 'em, baby

(overlap and fade)
Check out my parody, and buy yourself a Capri Sun because there's nothing better than it!

That's a fairly epic song to do just about a juice bag. This was amazing and I loved drinking Capri Sun when I was a kid, the only problem I ever had with it is that there's not nearly enough liquid in those bags and I had to drink like three or four to make me happy.

Very nice ode to the pocket punch...one trouble I have, is hold it too tight and it will spritz out the top

Grab your ~ COKE ~ don't forget your ~TAB~ but leave your ~RED BULL~, just leave it on your shoulder ! ~SPRITE's~ so sweet on the ~PEPSI ~ side othe street ! used to chug ~GATORADE~ with ~Mtn DEW~ in the shade. Hot ~TANG ~ . . . .

Welcome back Christie Marie M! Thanks for bringing a little (Capri) sun to my day. ;D

555 for your "sunny" bit of nostalgia... (even more points if we're allowed to throw the pouch at Ricky Martin when we're done...) ;)
Ross on "Friends" - September 10, 2010 - Report this comment
Did you see the episode where Rachael and I were going to do it for the first time? If so, you'd know the reference -- one of the funniest moments in sitcom history -- and if not, I'll retell it. (Hint: See AFW''s comment.) BR>
Wow, lotta repetition in that song. Glad you varied some, but maybe could have used other than "Capri" in every refrain line:

Drink it, it's fun
Dring the best one
Please give me one

It's tough doing highly-repetitious songs without running out of subs, though. It'll come with experience. Three juicy Fives. -- TT.

Thanks lots 4 v/c's, everybody! :)

Matthias - I can relate to your situation. Yeah, I agree that Capri Sun doesn't have enough liquid and I myself would rather stick to bottled drinks because there's as much liquid as needed to quench your thirst. Had a lifetlme of Capri Sun this summer, the Cooler varieties (e.g. Coastal Cooler, Mountain Cooler, Pacific Cooler, etc).

AFW - I can also relate to your situation as well. Sometimes I found it hard to stick a straw into that pouch and I stick holes in front and back side of the pouch I end up spilling Capri Sun on myself, and yeah, the liquid does spritz out the top as you said.

LilPepsiCakes - Cute and enjoyable comment as always, friend! Nice emulation of "Sunny Side of the Street!" I drink Coke sometimes as well as Red Bull and Sprite.

OMR - Thank you for the welcome back! Glad I brought Capri to your day. Even drank Capri Sun while writing this parody.

Fiddlegirl - Welcome back again as well! Nice to see you here again, friend! And thank you for your "sunny" comment! Oh, and I'm sure Ricky Martin would mind if you throw the pouch at him, as long as we don't hurt him too much!

Ross (TT) - Oh yeah, is that the episode where you have your first date in the museum and share juice boxes together. One of my fave episodes! :) Enjoyed that one lots! As for the repetition, I have lots to learn in parody writing. Oh, and thanks for the suggestion to your lyrics! I wished I could've thought of that one! Thanks for those juicy 5's as well!

P.S. I saw your reply and yesterday's Neo. Very interesting and great satire. It's a wonder how they can pronounce that extremely lengthy, complicated term! Yeah, heard of Irish Washerwoman. I kinda saw the satire as a limerick to a unique chemical. Yeah, I was also able to pronounce the word overtime. I definitely was able to pronounce the last word of the song as well. I'm just going to take it slowly and conjugate each syllable step by step.

Correction to FG's Ricky Martin comment: It should be "wouldn't mind"...not "would".

Excellent... many fond memories of Capri Sun pouches, such as using them to fight with, putting them on chairs for people to soak themselves and get sticky, throwing them with slingshots and even trying to make alcohol out of them by leaving a case in the sun (under the hatchback of a friend's Mercury Capri, nonetheless!) for a month. They tasted pretty darn good unless they fermented, but like Matthias, I had to drink several, so I preferred Fruitopia and Royal Mistic (anyone remember those?). 5s.
Christie Marie M - September 10, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Andria! :)...Nice to see you again, girl! Missed you! In regards to Capri Sun, yeah very useful for slingshot ammo! :) One time I drank fermented Ocean Spray (since cranberries ferment less than few days) but gotta try fermented Capri Sun sometime. But I used to drink a Capri Sun that's been spiked and luckily I didn't get totally wasted! Never drank Frutiopia in awhile and I remember Royal Mistic, but never had any yet. Glad you enjoyed this parody! :)
Andria @ CMM - September 11, 2010 - Report this comment
I don't think Fruitopia has been sold in the US for years, Pepsi's Fruit Works is only sold in school vending machines, and the most recent time I've seen a bottle of Royal Mistic or Veryfine (another old favorite) was in the mid-90s.
DJ Blaze - September 12, 2010 - Report this comment
Everytime I think of Capri Sun I remember those creepy "Respect The Pouch" commercials in which people who disrespect a Capri Sun pouch get mutated into something that had to do with how they disrespected the pouch. This parody removed most of the creepiness of those commercials and reminds me of the good old days when I used to drink Capri Sun with Lunchables Pizzas. 555, and BTW, since you're the only one on AmIRight other than me who would understand this, GIRUGAMESH!!!

Off-topic, but I'm feeling hungry for some Ako-Chan ramen right now. (Now there's probably someone else other than the 2 of us who knows what that is, his screen name starts with a T.....)
Christie Marie M - September 12, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Andria and DJ Blaze1 :)

Andria - Thanks for the info! ;D

DJ - I just YT'd those Respectoids Capri-Sun commercials few minutes ago. Very creepy, especially when that little girl turns into 'balloon girl' after trading her pouch to water balloons with a boy while on the swings, and that the boy turns to dog toy and dog bites the mutated boy turned to a toy. Thanks for taking the time to v/c my parody as well. Glad you enjoyed! I also enjoyed bring Capri to lunch as well....Oh, this Ako-Chan ramen always makes me hungry, even though I had a ginormic lunch. More parodies of mine coming soon.....hope to see you soon, and GIRUGAMESH!!! :)

Congrats on taking on this particular song. . .and completing it. . .for me a bit repetitive, but still very fun, and love the idea--besides its Ricky Martin, this particular one is hard to not be repetitive on
Agrimorfee - September 25, 2010 - Report this comment
What a strange idea, but you pulled it off...subject matter was a bit too cute, you must have put your mindframe back to age 12 when you were writing it! :) (IDK how old you are, but I remember when they first came out, made a mess of myself poking that damned straw in). Expertly paced.
Andria - September 25, 2010 - Report this comment
@Agrimorfee: CMM is about a month older than me. Jimmy Carter was still in office when we were both born, on opposite sides of the country.
Rex - September 26, 2010 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I'm waiting for them to come out with Daiquiri, Margarita, etc. :-) Although trying to get the straw in one of those pouches after a few swigs of the spirits might be impossible. Fun tribute.
Christie Marie M - September 26, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, BA Dave, Agri, Andria, and Rex! :)

Dave - Glad you enjoyed this! Yeah, this OS is repetitive indeed. Tommy Turtle already gave me a lyric suggestion for this satire and I wished that I would've thought of that one right away. I could've written that one.

Agri - Yeah, I was glad to have worked on this parody in advance as soon as the thread was up. Plus, it was an easy song to spoof for me. Also, about putting my mindframe at 12, I didn't discover Ricky Martin since he wasn't that big yet when I was 12. But I started parody writing during my school years and performed parodies in most school pageants and talent shows. For the record, I'm 30. Also glad you enjoyed my parody! I try to pace as much as I can.

Andria - Thanks for your comment the second time! What you said to Agri was true. I also heard great things about Jimmy Carter being a great president back then.

Rex - It would be cool if Capri Sun came in Daiquiri, Maragarita, even Cosmopolitan....maybe someday. Yeah, it's also impossible to get the straw in those pouches since they make a hole at the other side of the pouch. Glad you enjoyed my parody!

(Artistry) Wow, an epic tribute to a drink I've never heard of, how can I resist? Seriously, I have never seen one of these mysterious "juice bags", maybe they didn't catch on in Australia. Maybe these "juice bags" are sold in the the mythical realm of "Wal-Mart" I've heard so much about. Still, I enjoy a nice juice box now and then (cardboard box filled with juice...do you have those in the mystical land of "America"?), so I can still enjoy this parody. 555 bags for you!
Christie Marie M - October 01, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, bobpie/T-COP! :)...Yep, in the mystical land of America, everything's always available. So what kind of drinks do they serve in Australia? I'd like to try one! :) Glad you enjoyed this parody and thanks for those bags!
Agrimorfee - October 02, 2010 - Report this comment
CMM---most folks consider Carter to be the worst president of the modern era (by most concervatives' estimates, anyway. Personally, I have no problem with him. :))
Christie Marie M - October 23, 2010 - Report this comment
Belated thanks, Agri! :)...Yeah, not everyone would think much of Carter. Personally, I didn't know much about him since I was still a baby back then, of course.
Mare Garrel - October 30, 2010 - Report this comment
Dang genius. I tell ya, the things people get parody ideas from. I used to love the stuff too, except the dang pouches didn't last through the whole meal, usually! LOL
Christie Marie M - December 03, 2010 - Report this comment
Belated thanks, Mare! :)...Sorry I was late on this one. Glad you enjoyed this and I got this idea from this Devon Werkheiser (Former Nickelodeon actor from "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide") and his own YT vids show a clip of him drinking Capri Sun, so that's where I got that idea. Yeah, I also agree that pouches don't last through the whole meal...or your own thirst.
