It's always an itchy thing to rate songs when someone writes a decent parody that by design isn't funny at all, but quite thought provoking, so I gave you 545. I really liked your song--"Californication" is not one of the more familiar RHCP songs that I have heard, but I think you either improved on it or really made it your own. (note: did you try proofreading after hitting PREVIEW? it couldn't hurt). Welcome to the group.

KYLIEZ - I guess I was meant to see this one this morning because by coincidence I just got through watching some Red Hot Chili Peppers videos - which I haven't done in a couple months or more. Woke up, started to get ready to do something and just decided out of the blue to throw it in my DVD...didn't know why. And the first one I flicked on was "Californication" - purposely - wanted to hear it. And then I logged on, looked at one other parody and saw the "Original Song" title on the entries list. So I had to look. Wow! I'm putting it back on now while I read your piece and make my remarks here. Normally I take a pass altogether when there is so much misspellings, but I cut you complete slack on the spelling (which is really terrible here, "by the way", to borrow another RHCP song title) and went ahead and read it through - not considering that for rating purposes either because your parody is otherwise well-done and it looks like you're dealing with some ultra-serious stuff in your life - this is something that clearly came from deep inside you. OK, technically the pace is pretty damn close for a song that is not very easy to match up to. I could pretty much make it work with a little fiddling with my cadence so I gave you "5" there. Your subject, while not funny in the least, is so relevant; there's a lot of pain and alienation here and if you are really feeling all this now, well, it already looks like you're looking for some help and that's the right thing to do - So 5's in the other categories, too. I honestly feel a little feeble sitting here trying to assess this objectively, That just doesn't seem to matter in the larger scheme of things - your life; it's not a trivial thing and I don’t feel that good about sitting here and throwing numbers at it. I'm late for something I'm supposed to do and that doesn't mean crap to me now, either. I want to word this thoughtfully so you know a stranger read this and, I think, "got it". I like your “treat your friends very well for life is always changing” section. It’s a good reminder to all of us to think about people other than ourselves and to treasure and care for the loved ones in our lives. It happens that someone in my family is going through a very rough patch in her life and will be moving up here tomorrow to live at my Dad’s house. I’ve been planning to spend some time with her to see if I can help her see some of the brighter possibilities that life still offers. Well, that’s about all I can say. It seems trite, but I’ll say it anyway - “Hang in there, Kylie”. Sincere Best Wishes...
