The Lyrics

I've never actually tried to play the flute but i'm sure i'd be terrible if i did. By writing this song i now have parodies of three of the top 5 songs in the billboard hot 100 in case anyone cared
Ruining the classics, listening is tough
My music's elastic, I stretch your patience mad thin
It's tragic, worse by far
Then when my nails are next to a blackboard and scratchin'
None of the notes I play match with, what we were handed
Ten times two can't stand it that's mathsic
Now the sum of those who like it is none
But still I strive to play it more cause it's fun - tons!
You hate it I'll play it, I've got a twisted passion
For trashin' compositions like you can't imagine
Stink so much that it's a skill
And my sound will improve when I'm King of Brazil
And it's natural I'll get a grade of "F"
You wish you were D-E-A-F deaf
And it's natural I'll get a grade of "F"
You wish you were D-E-A-F deaf

I try to play the flute
I like to play the flute (toot)
I'm much more lame than cute
I love to play, why won't they stay?
I love to play the flute
I just defame the flute (shoot)
I'm just insanely cool
Or just insane, but anyway

Today fools got violent, they hurled themselves at me
Got annoyed by my noise, but it's not that easy
Well they sure aren't my friends, friends wouldn't attack me
I gave all of them a sharp blow, so each would be flat, see
Then I see the teacher
I told her the truth, but no explanation reached her
I had to stay after school
Because beating bullies breaks the rules, that's uncool
Went to dentention that's a terrible invention
She said head down, pipe down, up now, write down
Something for the teacher which she
Needs to do herself but she's lazy
I learned a lesson of law
If breaking regulations don't get caught
And there's a reason why I'm very distraught
Well she took my flute and it's something I bought
That was so low

I want to play the flute
She took away the flute (brute)
I wish she was a mute
Mutes couldn't say I shouldn't play
I love to play the flute
Why must she hate my flute
I had a great excuse
Why am I here? It isn't clear

It's crazy, please let me out now
Or I'll tape a can to your mouth now
I take that back (take that back) take that back
There's no way that I'd do that (That's just so bad)
Give it back, don't make me
Call the cops to stop your instrument taaa-king
Ooh cause you robbed me, you'll be sorry
If you don't just give me back the ... flute

I want to play the flute
She took away the flute (brute)
I wish she was a mute
Mutes couldn't say I shouldn't play
I love to play the flute
Why must she hate my flute
I had a great excuse
Why am I here? It isn't clear

As a flutist I particularly enjoyed this one, but DKTOS.

thanks mari... if you turn on a top 40 station for 15 minutes you will probably hear this but it would be much easier just to download it. anyway, i guess i shouldn't be too disapointed with the lack of votes considering the home page is down

555 for someone that understands the hell, the agony, the anguish of living with a flutist. Still a lot better than the subject of "Talk Of Wife"

5's all around. I thought it was clever

I'll bet you could learn to play the flute in less time than it took to write this. Good job.

It was very astute of you to find so many rhymes for flute. I also liked the way you rhymed D-E-A-F with the grade of F. Very good parody.

Okay, now I've heard the song and have voted high marks for this one! It's especially funny to me since I play the flute and have heard some bad players! Tonight I showed it to the other flutist at orchestra rehearsal, and she laughed, too.

Yeah, this one time? At band camp? Never mind; great job.

Ethan - You really have a great poetic touch. I've started to notice that in so many of yours works you really, ahh...how to say it? I guess I'm trying to say you use what seems kind of a "Rap" style, rhyming rapid-fire within lines as well as at the line endings. I like to see that, it gives the pace a bit of a kick and catches the reader and carries him along with the flow.
