The Lyrics

There's no one here to trust, all these guys
-Everyone sees so far too much of me
Memories rotten and rust
They defy
-So hard not to fake,
-But I'm so tired from lack of sleep
-Everytime I try to close my eyes
-They knock me off my feet
-All I ever think about is this
-I hear time and time again
-Of how "Don't ask, don't tell" don't work for them
-And how hard that they must have been

[Chorus:]
Blow all the acts, all the insight
'Cause my roommates are gay
And they think that I'm sexy
Oh my God I think I'm screwed

Tension has built up inside, denies me
-Everyone sees so far too much of me
Memories coated with lies
I'm crying
-So hard not to fake,
-But I'm so tired from lack of sleep
-Everytime I try to close my eyes
-They knock me off my feet
-All I ever think about is this
-I hear time and time again
-Of how "Don't ask, don't tell" don't work for them
-And how hard that they must have been

[Chorus: Repeat]

Oh my God I think I'm screwed!
Screwed! [x2]
God I know I'm screwed!
Screwed! [x3]

[Chorus: Repeat (x2)]

Screwed! [x3]

(SOTM)Hmm... dktos, again... but hey, being able to parody is a talent, so hats off to you!

SOTM - DKTOS. It read well.

I was wondering, was the "I think I'm screwed" an intentional double entendre? ;-)

SOTM--I'm kind of speechless. Which is rare for me...so...congratulations on that, at least...

Yikes. This reminds me of my stint at Attica.

(SOTM)Sorry, this didn't grab me, and not just because i DKTOS.

(SOTM) Seconded. This was ripe for puns but your tone made it awkward to read.

(SOTM): Maybe "At the bedside" would have been a better title, or maybe I just don't fully get it.

SOTM.... I do know the original song and it wouldn't be hard to improve on, but I'm just not digging this particular rewrite. To be fair, I should mention that I'm not really sure I get the theme of this. I think it's set in a gay barracks, that your main character (lead vocal part) is severely exhausted and traumatized because he's the only straight guy, they're all hot for him AND unfortunately for him, all of them also happen to be rapists, it reads to me like they're supposed to be gang-rapists.... he's forced to dress and shower in front of them and he can't risk falling asleep or letting his guard down for even a moment or he'll be victimized again. Am I reading it right?? If so, ditto Arwen.

Yep, you're screwed all right (sorry; couldn't resist. What everyone else said).

(SOTM) - DKTOS, and your story-theme is pretty much ridiculous, and not especially funny either...
martha - October 19, 2004 - Report this comment
gosh I hope this isn't based on personal experience sounds very tiring!

If you are attempting to discredit "don't ask, don't tell," I think that humor might work better than melancholy.

(SOTM) "Memories coated with lies"....poetic pathos reeking of self-reflective truth.

Sorta wierd Bryan. Then again, it's Blinkin Park re-done, that must be something in it's favor!
Meriadoc - October 30, 2004 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Well, I liked the "I think I'm screwed" line - the rest was a bit heavy...
2nz - October 31, 2004 - Report this comment
DKTOS, but just from a free-read I know this has to be better than whatever the original lyrics are. Enjoyable as a free-read
