The Lyrics

I have been wanting to do this one for a long time now. I was trying to remember some of the highlights from TV's "All in the Family" sitcom.
Meathead, Meathead!
Edith, Edith!
Gloria, Gloria!
Archie, Archie!

There is nothing on TV
Say what, say what?
Say what, say what?
Say what, say what?

I found Edith and Archie
Playing their piano very badly, yeah sucka'! Crazy theme song!
Oh yeah, the way Glen Miller played
Gloria, Meathead, and Edith and Archie Bunker

When Gloria got married to Meathead, she changed her last
name to Stivic, to Stivic
So Archie Bunker called his wife a "dingbat"
Always calling his son-in-law, Mike, a Meathead

This show would launch Maude, Jeffersons, and Good Times
Archie's, like, some kind of bigot with a lovely Jewish wife, that little bigot dude
Norman Lear had lots to work with
Cuz the show all started out as "Till Death Do Us Part" in Great Brit
But more on that in the upcoming--
verse!

Yeah, Johnnny Speight did this little show, yeah yeah
And Archie
Was known as Alf Ramsey, yeah...
Changed to Garnett?!?
And Good Old Edith went by a different first name
"Else" as a name is creepy
Then there's Meathead
Anthony Booth played him as Michael Rawlins
Yeah, baby!
What about Gloria? on the British show, she was named Rita,
Dandy Nichols

Mr. George Jefferson, he was Archie's neighbor, hey hey! Edith!
George would call Archie a weird name like "jive turkey"
Weezy was his wife, you guessed? Thank you for playin' "All in the Family" Trivia, baby!
Couldn't be more correct, except to call her Louise, yeah!
Fish don't fry in the kitchen
Say what, say what?
And beans don't burn on the grill, man!

CHORUS:
Archie hates me!
Does he hate you?
You know what, you know what?
It's "All in the Family"
Hey, Meathead!
Archie hates him!
I watch it on TV
It's "All in the Family"

Mike had some friends, the Hippies from the Sixties, getting high all the time
And then Edith had menopause
The cancer came, and then Edith passed away
Then it was Archie's show
Did not live up to the original show
"Archie Bunker's--
Place"

From "Dick Van Dyke", Carl Reiner, his son, name of Rob, was Meathead
Remember when Sammy Davis, Jr., gave Archie a kiss?
Yes, you do!
And then the time, that Archie was missing
When Carroll O'Connor's contract went all crazy
Absent for three episodes
Here today?
Carroll passed away kid, passed away.

CHORUS:
He's a bigot!
She's a dingbat!
And Meathead, yeah Meathead!
It's "All in the Family"
George Jefferson
said "Jive turkey!"
with all hilarity
It's "All in the Family"

You call Edith a singer?!
Nope!
"....And you knew where you WERE THEEEENNNN!!!!!"
No way!

Now Archie is the singer
Archie?
He sings a better treble. I think he was a tenor
It's rerunning on cable
Yeeeeeehaaaaaa!!

I just can't stand that falsetto by his lovely wife, Edith
Oh, Mr. Jefferson, why do you call your lovely wife "Weezy"?
Quick-witted she was, I'd chuckle at her jokes, slap my knees, ho ho ho
Hee hee hee ha ha!
Well, I'm glad that you got the chance
on your spinoff

Like them other guys in England, this show was very politics-heavy, yeah yeah
There's Archie, and Edith Bunker, Gloria and Mike were married Stivic
And then there were neighbors
There was Maude Findlay, Mr. George Jefferson and Weezy, and Fred Sanford
Was Sanford a neighbor of the Bunker Clan?

CHORUS:
The way glen Miller played
Songs that made the kid parade
Guys like us, we had it made
It's "All in the Family"
Those were the days
You knew where you [in bad singing voice] were then!
Girls were girls and men were men
It's "All in the Family"

Rock on, Archie!
Rock on Edith!
Rock on, Meathead!
Rock on Gloria!
Weezy Jefferson!
Sammy Davis, too!
and then there's Maude, and then there's Maude, you know it!
Say what? Say... what?
