Very true-555! I think that the definition of Christian needs to be more than simply "to be Christ-like" b/c Jesus was a OOAK on earth. Born of a virgin, he had no original sin and He lived a perfect life that none of us can. When He died on the Cross it was not mere mortal blood but divine which forgave all of mankind. So a Christian to me is a sinner saved by grace through faith based on the FINISHED work of the Cross. When Jesus said, "It is finished" he was talking about salvation, not the end of his life nor ministry. Secular people think salvation must be earned- merited. False. We Believers accept a finished work and what is judged in the First Resurrection is not salvation but what we did with the Gospel and our Christian lives with rewards and loss of rewards. But salvation can never be lost b/c it is based on what Christ already did, not what we do subsequently. His grace IS sufficient! People judge by the outside but only the HS knows the heart and soul of a person. Good for you for posting a spiritual message instead of all the sarcastic and vile stuff here mixed with political despair and animosity. People perceive me as any number of things but I am covered by the blood of the Lamb. And you can't tell online what a person's heart is like or what they do for humanity. Christians are fallible and have sin too... but we have grace whereas the secular do not. Christians are not righteous either as all righteousness is imputed. Only those born-again (of the spirit) are saved, not anyone who professes to be a Believer. Many that sit in church for decades are merely religious and have a knowledge of God... but fail to have a relationship with the Lord. They deceive themselves through works and offerings, but inside are spiritually just as dead as the secular people are! So if you just believe in God- so what? So does Satan, the 1/3rd Fallen, and their demon offspring. They do not serve God. OK... my sermon is over ;-)
