Song Parodies -> "My Computer Died Out"

Original Song Title:

"I Married My Dream Girl"

Original Performer:

Free Credit Report Commercial

Parody Song Title:

"My Computer Died Out"

Parody Written by:

Max Power

The Lyrics

Though it wasn't much of a 404 parody but it's still a sequel neverless.
Well my computer died out

My computer died out

Cuz they didn't tell me the power was bad

So now instead of writing for amiright.com

It's slumming in the storage as I'm taking meds

It's worse than Viacom

When they're sending out the feds

All because my new computer got hit with 404

If I hadn't bought it from the flea market

I'd be a happy writer of a song 404
I'll try to do something about the pirate song one day, right now I just hit a dead end on my *NSYNC parody.

I'd give you a five, but my home computer isn't working too well, either. (I'm at work now... Shhhh!)

Is this a sequel to my 404 parody based on this song? or is it to your Billy Joel one. So thats 4 F.C.R.C parodies now, two by you and two by me!

(SOTM) Short but sweet. Wouldn't have thought to do the commercials as a parody.

(SOTM) See above.

Good choice of original song to parody, I too wouldn't have thought of parodying this OS. Not exactly impressive enough to do justice for the SOTM but still pretty good.

I can't vote 404, so I'll vote 555.

(SOTM-Jul-08)

That annoying commercial has ruined more good lines in my parodies since I usually write parody with the TV on. I will be thinking up a good line and FCR-DOT-C jingle cranks up as I search frantically for the remote to mute the damn thing. By the time I mute it I lost the thought. Wonder what would happen if I were to write a FCR-DOT-C and that commercial came on? Would it be like deju vu for the very first time again?

(SOTM) Well you know how I've commented about this one in the past...now you found a Youtube (of all things!) and now my brain goes--"AHA, so that's the tune!" (it's getting played incessantly on Yahoo/Launchmusic). Well this was a goody, short and sweet. Mucho points for making a story just as good as the OS with that much length.
bobpiecheese - August 29, 2008 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Incredibly short, but not as sweet as the old saying goes. Some of the lines seemed kinda outta place to me.
Red Ant - August 31, 2008 - Report this comment
There's a few FCR jingles out there now - I remember this one. Tough task taking on a funny commercial jingle, but kudos for doing it.

(SOTM) WOAH. . .30 Ones? Is there any way the voting system can check IP instead of cookies? I mean I know IPs change all the time, but one votes aren't from spammers, they're from people who obviously have a personal problem with Max, this is ridiculous. I've never taken voting too seriously, but 30 ones? That's absolutely insane--it's only got 84 hits. . .Max, it is paced well, and all, but I don't think I recall ever reading something this short in a contest, still 555 because I base it on TOS--not where I think it ranks among SOTM contenders, I do hope something is done about that voting, The votes may not mean anything, but that's just unbelievable. . .

Max...just the fact you chose to parody this goofy OS made me laugh. Thanks for that. Good job.
Silver Power - July 17, 2009 - Report this comment
I didn't really like this one too much. Pacing was fine, but I didn't find it funny, so 513.

(ABC05M)

See comment above - The FCR singing guy is still bustin' my thought paterns and I'm still scrambling for that remote to mute his ass. I wish that commercial would get a 404 error when I'm writing.

A clever but short parody of a dumb commercial song.

You sure get a kick out of doing "Free Credit Report.com" commercial parodies cause I mean they're short and easy to write, but because they're so short and easy to write it's hard to get a lot of humor out of them.
Below Average Dave - August 06, 2009 - Report this comment
Max, I don't have much to say here, I respect your decision to parody such weird original song choices, but these don't give you much to work with buddy.
bobpiecheese - August 07, 2009 - Report this comment
(ABC5) See above, with the addition of the fact that I have NEVER heard of Free Credit Report.com or whatever the OS you've been doing over nine thousand times is.
Red Ant - August 20, 2009 - Report this comment
See above. As for the ones, you can PM ChuckyG to remove duplicate votes (no way they're all legit).
