The Lyrics

Have you ever found yourself flipping through the channels on TV? Just constantly searching for something good to watch? And of course, you just end up settling on your old favorites like "The Cosby Show" and "Full House." Well, that's what today's parody is about! TV shows. I apologize for missing some of my favorites, but I didn't have enough syllables in the song to mention them.
Somewhere inside my evolution
Karmically I seek retribution
Looking for shows in the new TV guide
Nothing is really sparking my interest
And now, I try to intellectualize
Why the news are so sensationalized
I am consumed by the crap haunting me
I know "Temptation Island's" sucky

There's so much crap on TV
Until there's nothing left to see, yeah yeah
Because I recall the show "Lois and Clark"
"Seinfeld" and "Friends" were set near Central Park

One problem with all of the shows on today,
They are Reality TV
But just who lives with seventeen strangers
And dates a fake multi-millionaire?
Who has a nanny come and watch their kids
And get made over in one day
There's no such thing
I always thought we were better than this
We're actually watching this sh*t

So much crap on TV
Until there's nothing left to see, yeah yeah
Oh, because I like the "Gilmore Girls" quick remarks
And I think Mulder and Scully had a spark, oh
Because in "24" I think Kiefer's hot, oh
You know I like the action, the action and, the action and the plot, oh

This stuff that's on TV
Shifting me chemically
Such power over me
It's just desire
I know it's trickery (shifting me chemically)
I know it's just skin deep (such power over me)
I know I should resist
I'm just too tired
Too tired

Ooh, ooh

There's just one thing missing
One thing missing here is
Taste

"Roseanne" should live in a trailer park, yeah
Darlene and Roseanne, are as quick as sharks
Ooh, you know, I like the show "The Nanny" a lot
Ooh, you know, I like the butler, and C.C. and the mother and Yetta

There's so much crap on TV, yeah, yeah, yeah
(There's just one thing missing)
(One thing missing)
Until there's nothing left to see, yeah, yeah
(There's just one thing missing)
(The action and the plot)
(One thing missing)
(There's so much crap on TV)
There's just one thing missing
One thing missing
(There's so much crap on TV)
(I like the action, the action and the plot)
(There's just one thing missing)

One thing missing here is
Taste
Oh yeah, I know I totally trashed reality TV, but a few shows have sucked me in, too. Like, "The Real World," "American Idol," and "Newlyweds." Forgive me!
