The Lyrics
Recently declassified documents reveal America's first disc aircraft project working with AVRO Canada. This has nothing to do with the Avrocar GETOL fiasco, but a real attempt to build a jet disc able to reach Mach 4 and 100,000 ft in the late 1950s. Unfortunately, disc aircraft of any type are inherently unstable and so the US gave up by the early '60s. Flying wings and Delta craft are far more promising. Even the German discs would have been hard pressed to fight the aerial hordes of enemy bombers and escorts.

* Ground Effect Take-Off and Landing machine Avrocar was designed as flying Jeep. Total failure. The project number was 1794 for the one mentioned.
