The Lyrics

Before any pedants point out that Ginny wasn't frozen by the basilisk, and was lying there because she'd somehow ended up in Tom Riddle's diary... OK, I know. I also know that a basilisk is a lizard, not a snake, so it ain't just me claiming poetic license :-)
Harry found the way in, was it
In the ladies' water closet
And he ain't one for ditherin'
He saw the statue of Slytherin
He knew that he couldn't eas'ly
Rescue Ginny Weasley
So he ran into the chamber
She was struck down, and in danger

Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny

Ginny are you ok
Will you wake up, say you're ok
Lying there in the middle
Swapping places with Tom Riddle
Your natural inquiry
Left you stuck there in his diary
Then you opened up the chamber
You were struck down
And in danger

Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
You've been seen by
You've been froze by a
Huge Basilisk

So Harry had to fight it
Couldn't look, though, out of sight it
Had to be in case it saw him
And it froze him: no one to thaw him

Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny

Harry are you ok
Have you given a little pokey
To that great basilisky
Yes, it seems a little risky, Harry
Fighting in the chamber
Next to Ginny - she's in danger
You got a lucky stroke in
It was struck down
I'm not jokin'

Ginny are you ok
Are you ok? Are you ok, Ginny
You've been seen by
You've been froze by a
A Huge Basilisk

I think you did an excellent job here! I am always a sucker for a Harry Potter parody and yours most certainly did not disappoint. But Phil, didn't you know that "Smooth Criminal" was originally by Michael Jackson?
Phil Alexander - October 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Yes, Ash, I know that MJ wrote it originally, but I Alien Ant Farm version is so much more fun, it's the only one I listen to (and MJ goes on and on and on and on... if I didn't repeat myself, I'd have to do the whole Chamber of Secrets)

Did this by any chance started out as an aim to do a double entendre wordplay parody and ended up being about Harry Potter? Or is seeing such lines in it just in my imagination? :-)
Phil Alexander - October 26, 2004 - Report this comment
:-) Thanks, everyone.. and no, Peter, it didn't start out intending to be a double entendre: I was originally going to do it as "Lord Voldemort", but someone beat me to it...
