Song Parodies -> "Come On Out, Larry"

Original Song Title:

"Let It Out, Davey"

Original Performer:

Adam Sandler

Parody Song Title:

"Come On Out, Larry"

Parody Written by:

Max Power

The Lyrics

Narrator: One night Larry Craig did an incredibly stupid thing he still denies until... Larry: What's going on out there? Am I hallucinating? Footlocker guy: No you're not, same thing happened to Adam Sandler few years ago. Larry: What the heck is happening right now? Footlocker guy: Something that should have happened 16 years ago.
Radio:
Time to 'fess, Larry, over.

Larry:
What? Leave me alone, I'm tired...

GNC bottle:
You can't run from trouble, even if you're the senator.

Footlocker guy:
We all heard what happened at the bathroom stall today,
When police bust up your sad ass,
You've locked yourself away,
That's because they're on to something after living a lie,
Go ahead and come on out and just give it a try

Wooden child soldiers:
Come on out, Larry

Larry:
Aw, shut your wooden plugs

Dress:
Come on out, Larry

GNC bottle:
Would you check out her what-nots!

Larry:
You want me to come in clean,
Screw you is what I say!

GNC bottle:
Denial is pretty lame,
The whole thing won't blow away

Candy box lady:
You think you're so perfect

Footlocker guy:
But you just live a liiiie!

Dress:
Why don't you come out of the closet and just give it a try
(GNC bottle cries)

Java cup:
Come on out, Larry

Larry:
My color isn't pink

Chair:
You gotta come out, Larry

Larry:
Ya'll can **** my dink

You lame-o's and *o-mo's are wasting your time,
Forcing me to fear,
As nothing you can say or do,
Will make me hit a beer

Panda:
He possesses no such merit,
And will not fold his cards

Footlocker guy:
So now we'll bring in the big guy,
His beautiful plea bargain deal

Radio:
Take it Larry, maybe it'll blow off, over.

NRA:
Well who ever thought, you would show off your gun,

Roll Call editor:
It's a story a-hoy

Village People:
We still do not care who you are,
Hypocritical, Republican
Narrator: Since then Larry while denying that he'll resign, he also confirmed he won't run again either.

Here we go again

(SOTM) I tried really hard to find the OS, but i couldn't, so Im not sure how to judge this, but I'll give you 555 as it was an OK read.

(SOTM) Well, um...when submitting to a contest, it really, really helps to provide a direct link to the tune. You gave 2 links which evidently split the song in half. Frankly, Charn, we really shouldn't have to sit through the amount of material of the 9:50 clip to get to this song. I got to the second link instead because I am out of time, and I noticed that quite a bit of the OS words were still being used here.
As to the parody itself, with these multiple characters I'm not at all sure what you were trying to do here. A little more contextual explanation would have helped--but it's always better when a parody needs very little explanation if at all.

Sorry for the above...For some reason, I addressed the above to Charnstar...I meant Max Power, obviously the correct author of the parody.

I agree with Aggy 1000%. There have been a few parodies by you that I liked Max. Your Wildcard is one of them, this however, isn't.

It's friday, but I've only downed two bottles of Xider and it usually takes much more and stronger kinds of alcohol before I feel this lost, hence I second Aggy and Matty here.

SOTM - The main problem with this parody is the OS. I love Eight Crazy Nights, one of my favourite holiday movies, but it's the sort of musical that has music that shouldn't be parodied due to the use of characters. The lyrics here are too similar to the original and all the characters from the OS are here, saying practically the same thing... but I did like the intro on the otherhand and the part where the Village People came in made me laugh. 5-3-3

(SOTM-JAN) Sorry - I'm totally unfamiliar with all of it and cannot make an accurate assessment to form an opinion of what I think of it. What Ag asaid as well and an OS sure would not have hurt to plug in for some of us who have not clue one of the movie or the OS.

From the one who did "Folly, Foley", parodies like this are well-deserved.

(SOTM) If this one flew over the head of Agri, the Master of Randomness, then I've got no chance.

(SOTM) I'm vaguely familiar with the Larry Craig scandal, but this parody doesn't make much sense to me. Sorry.
Phil Alexander - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
Has its moments, but I'm afraid most of it really didn't click for me
Jeff Reuben - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
Not bad...I'm also unfamiliar with the scandal, unfortunately.

(SOTM) Sorry, Max...but I'm not familiar enough with the story to get much out of this, dude.
Jeff Reuben - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
Duh...brain fart on my part...very familiar with the Larry Craig scandal, just didn't click when I read this the first time. Should have had that second cup of coffee. Apologies.

This was pretty good I thought

Anyone who wants to bash Larry Craig in this SOTM round is OK by me...;-)

To whoever wanted to find the original song, it's from the film "8 Crazy Nights". I thought it was pretty awesome myself.
