The Lyrics

It's late at night I'm in my Jeep
The gas gauge is showing near E
Oh I hope I can go one more mile

They just said on the TV set
The prices aren't done rising yet
Oh God they are getting really steep

I think that soon I will start walking
Then I'll get no headaches from parking

Baby you know that
Maybe It's time for drilling holes
So that we have our own gas flow
You know that
Prices have gone near criminal
and I can't afford it no more
At least as long as I am poor

Milk and bread have risen too
All that we needs gone through the roof
My pay is flat while prices hit the skies

All luxuries I can forget
I can't afford a good bed yet
but hey at least I've got my family

There's really no time for this crying
Just making a point--well I'm trying

Frankly I know that
Bankers messed up math'matical
and they caused the U.S. to crash
You know that
I'm not being fanatical
I'm just stating the simple facts

Buddy is your wallet crumbling
You know I am stumbling (stumbling)
and so
Can we please stop this mess we're going through

These Corp'rate liiiiiiiiiiiiies

Buddy I know that
I'm lucky to have a job at all
and I've got friends I can call
I know that
We were overdue for a fall
Now we can't afford all our malls
Someday oooh
We will get back uuuuuuuup yeeeees
yes someday we will get back up

Clever look at the state of our present economy... And you must really like this Adam Lambert fellow (probably because he looks a lot like Billie Joe Armstrong)

This is your second Adam Lambert parody that I looked over today! I've been YTing his music lately while singing through your parody. Yep, great explanation of trying times there. I also wrote a recession based parody last year called "Financial Hell". BA Dave, here's 555 parody writer bailouts for this one!

Thank you guys:) This is my second Adam Lambert (and the site's second as well) but it won't be my last. He has the voice of Freddie Mercury, the attitude of Billie Joe Armstrong, the style of Lady GaGa and the Flare of Madonna--what's not to like:) Seriously, since he came on to the scene I've been somewhat entranced by his music, so yeah, I will likely be doing parodies to many of his songs--even though as of yet he doesn't have that many.

A spot-on analysis of the current state of affairs, Dave. Here in the UK, petrol (gas) averages about £1.10 a litre (which in Ameri-speak is about US $6.75 a gallon)...and our government is showing staggering ineptitude in dealing with the recession, while allowing the banks to get away with murder and fiddling their own expenses. Bah humbug! 555

I heard of some guys a couple of years back who were stealing gasoline by drilling holes in gas tanks of cars. Now that's a plan that could blow up in your face. Good take on rising prices, 555.
