"Hi Diddly Dee"
The Dated Lyrics: You wear your hair in a pompadour
You ride around in a coach-and-four You stop and buy out a candy store An actor's life for me! Why They're Dated: This was an "actor's life" in the early 19th century, not in 1940, when Pinocchio came out. However, they do have some significance. A pompadour was a popular hairstyle of that time, later repopularized in the 1950's. A coach-and-four was a carriage pulled by four horses. And in those days, candies were VERY expensive, so when you "stop and buy out a candy store," you'd really spend an entire fortune on these delicious treats.
