Band Name Origins:
- The band named themselves after their favourite brand of amplifiers, Sunn. The Sunn amplifier logo features the word 'Sunn' folowed by a circle (intended to be a sun) with concentric circles coming off it. So if one was to type out the logo, it would read Sunn O))). It is also intended to be a tip of the hat to Earth, the band who inspired Sunn O))) to form. Submitted by: tom

- It's pronounced "sun" but almost no one is going to think it's spelled this way if they hear it first but don't see it in print. Some people might think it is pronounced "sun-o" instead, and using parenthesis in a band name is just plain stupid. Submitted by: Sarah D.
