Misrhymed Song Lyrics:

"I Got Stoned And I Missed It"
The Misrhymed Lyrics:
When a friend yelled through the transom
Grab your coat and get your hat, son
There's a nut down on the corner
Givin' dollar bills away!
Why They're Misrhymed:
I know Silverstein was a talented artist, but a misrhymed lyric is a misrhymed lyric ('transom' and 'hat, son'). He must have been thinking more about the line 'Get your coat, don't forget your hat' in Dorothy Fields' 'On the Sunny Side of the Street' than about mustering a suitable rhyme here. Oh, well, the central character was under the influence of marijuana throughout the song ('I ain't making no excuses/For the many things I uses')...

Super Short Pop Songs:

"26 Second Song" Length: 0:26
This song played on our local AM station, WLCY 1380AM in Tampa, FL. in 1972. I still have it on a cassette I recorded back then! "All the DJ's keep complainin', tunes run much too long - so I've gone and wrote myself a 26 second song". That's the entire lyrics. Today, it can be heard on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gf0N6FOSk0

"26 Second Song" Length: 0:28
Released on Columbia 4-45450 in 1971 as a 45 in the U.S. It's the "B" side of "A Front Row Seat To Hear Ole Johnny Sing" It should have been called "28 Second Song" to match its actual length!
