Story about this misheard lyric by: Ingrid McCannless

Before hearing this version by Sergio Mendes, etc., I was fairly familiar with the Beatles' version, but didn't have all the lyrics memorized by any means. Then I heard this on my car radio and, thought, they sure don't annunciate all the words as clearly as the Beatles did. The second line above sounded PARTICULARLY peculiar the way I heard it. I knew that must not be the real words, but couldn't remember the real words to that line from the Beatles version either. I wracked my brains all the way home trying to figure out what the real lyrics to that line were. But I came up with nothing until I got home and looked up the lyrics online.
