Fun Music Information -> OMD
This is the most recent information about OMD that has been submitted to amIright. If we have more information about OMD, then we provide a link to the section where it appears (the actual page whenever possible).
Band Name Origins:
- A contraction of "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark" - a track from an early album issued under a different name (LXCVI, I think - that one was taken from a diagram on a Kraftwerk album cover). Albums typically carried the full name with the letters "OMD", or the full name only. Note that the correct spelling "Manoeuvres" (and not the incorrect "Maneuvers") is used. Submitted by: fooooo

Funny Lyrics:
"Sailing On The Seven Seas"
The Funny Lyrics: You're sailing on the seven seas
Sister Ray is on tv. The light above, it shines so bright That the F.B.I. won't sleep tonight Why They're Funny: The whole thing jumps around like this. Beautiful, but what's Sister Ray doing in the middle of it? The song is truly light years away from Velvet Underground.
