Band Name Origins:

  • Quoting Keith Emerson's autobiography (since they were originally a backing band for P.P. Arnold), Emerson is narrating the whole thing, but this is Arnold speaking: '"Man, Lord Buckley is so cool. He speaks in the verncaular, like, he does this one sketch about God and Moses where he refers to God as The Naz..." "What's a Naz?" asks Lee "Hell, the Naz is Naz, or you'd prefer in your Englishness, Nice. You should call yourself that," said P.P. "The Nice, yeah that's real good," she teased, cracking up...." And so it stuck. Submitted by: progforever
  • Taken from the city in France. Submitted by: Goldie

Song Titles Not Used as Lyrics:

Song Name
Comments & Submitter Name
"The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack"The name of the title comes from the members of The Nice 'Emer'son, O''List', 'Davi'son, and 'Jack'son. Nowhere was the title to be heard. It should be called "I'm Going Back"...but it just doesn't seem to sound right. - Paul Warren

Songs That Are Banned:

"America"
this was banned in America by the composer Leonard Bernstein, also banned by the Royal Albert Hall for burning the American Flag during the number. info from Charisma Repeat Performance album BG1 1980
